Discover Robin Hood at the Playhouse

Overview

Missoula Children's Theatre logoStudents in Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to take part in a week-long after-school theatre workshop that will have them auditioning on Monday and performing on the Playhouse stage by Saturday. This workshop, led by professionals from the Missoula Children's Theatre from Montana, provides performing arts education specially designed for young students as they prepare Robin Hood for two public performances.

Among the roles to be cast are Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Marian’s Maid, Prince John, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Foresters, the Aristocrats, the Merry Band, the Guards, the Horsemen, and the Skunks (50-60 students will be cast). With great parts for boys and girls, this production comes complete with fun songs, colorful sets, and fabulous costumes.

Workshop Fee

The cost for participating in the week-long workshop is $40.

The workshop is offered through a joint effort of the Nuveen Community Center for the Arts and the Playhouse at White Lake, who teamed up to bring the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre to the White Lake area.

Support for This Workshop

This exceptional opportunity for area youth is made possible in part by a grant from the White Lake Lothmann Family Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, as well as the generous donations of individual community members and local businesses who support youth theatre. Scholarships for students in need are available.

Auditions & Rehearsals

Robin Hood PosterAuditions will be held on September 22nd from 4 to 6 pm (no preparation needed).

Rehearsals will be held on September 23rd through the 26th from 4 to 8:15 pm each day. The rehearsal location will be the City Hall Garden Room on the 23rd and the Playhouse on the other days.

Performances

There will be two performances on Saturday, September 27th, at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Tickets are $5.
