Missoula Children's Theatre Workshop
Discover Robin Hood at the Howmet Playhouse
Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to take part in a week-long after-school theatre workshop that will have them auditioning on Monday and performing on the Howmet Playhouse stage by Saturday. This workshop, led by professionals from the Missoula Children's Theatre from Montana, provides performing arts education specially designed for young students as they prepare Robin Hood for two public performances.
Among the roles to be cast are Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Marian’s Maid, Prince John, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Foresters, the Aristocrats, the Merry Band, the Guards, the Horsemen, and the Skunks (50-60 students will be cast). With great parts for boys and girls, this production comes complete with fun songs, colorful sets, and fabulous costumes.
The cost for participating in the week-long workshop is $40.
Nuveen and Howmet Partner Again
The workshop is offered through a joint effort of the Nuveen Community Center for the Arts and the Howmet Playhouse, who teamed up to bring the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre to the White Lake area.
Support for This Workshop
This exceptional opportunity for area youth is made possible in part by a grant from the White Lake Lothmann Family Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, as well as the generous donations of individual community members and local businesses who support youth theatre. Scholarships for students in need are available.
