The 2016 Theatre Festival Staff
BETHANY BEAMAN (Managing Director) could not be happier with all of the community support for the Howmet Playhouse. Beth is thrilled to be the Managing Director during the Playhouse’s 100th Anniversary year. She wants to thank her wonderful family for all of their love and support and is blessed to share this journey with them.
CLAIRE BEAMAN (Production Assistant) has spent most of her childhood in the theatre, both acting and behind the scenes. She was most recently on stage in Big Love at Muskegon Community College. Recipient of this year’s Outstanding Technical Theatre Student at MCC, Claire is excited to return to the Playhouse this summer as a Production Assistant and Set Designer and plans to pursue a career working in professional theatrical design.
SUSAN EYLER (Costumes) is costumer for Muskegon Community College and works for Freedom Village as Resident Activities Representative. She has worked as a freelance costumer for Steven Iannaconne and HOPE college dance department, and as a choreographer for a number of local high schools. Susan’s background in the arts includes studying at The Royal Dance Company, UK. After graduating with a double major—LPN and international business/English language and literature—she moved to Germany to study economics, government and politics. All this time she still continued to study dance with Yve Poprawski (Martha Graham Technique) and toured with Elka Olschwski Jazz taps group. She has choreographed several musicals for the Army and local high schools. While working with Howmet Playhouse this summer, she is also preparing for 2016-2017 shows for MCC. Susan resides in Holland.
TYLER FRANK (Production Manager) studied theatre at Saginaw Valley State University. He is a history and drama teacher at Montague High School, and is thrilled to be working with the Playhouse team this summer.
BRIAN GOODMAN (Set Designer and Build Supervisor) is a painter, carpenter, cook, gardener, shoemaker, dreamer. Well over half of a century of theater, but acting on stage only once—to get the degree in college. Currently employed at Muskegon Community College in the scene shop. Lives north of Muskegon on a small farm with his family. Works as a guest scenic artist at local universities and theater companies in the summers. Does stuff with paint. Lots of stuff.
MARCELLA HENRY (Costumes, Sets, and Make Up) is loved by everyone here at the Playhouse. She is always willing to help out wherever she can, and she brings the most delicious food for the cast and crew to eat, backstage. When not in the kitchen or working on several community events, she finds time to work on productions. Marcella’s resume includes costume designer for Other Desert Cities, set decoration for A Christmas Story, props for Working and Plaid Tidings, hair and make-up for Leaving Iowa, Dial M for Murder, Crimes of the Heart, Great American Trailer Park Musical, set-dressing, The Dixie Swim Club, tech crew, The Music Man, paint crew, Leaving Iowa and The Games Afoot, all for MCT. Playhouse credits include hair and make-up, Mouse Trap, Leading Ladies, and Leaving Iowa, as well as hair and make-up for Love Letters for CPP. Marcella has four children, Sabryna, Cassondra, Thomas, and Lillian.
LISA HILLIARD (Costume Designer) has worked as costume designer on numerous productions for both Central Park Players and Muskegon Civic Theatre, most recently A Christmas Story for MCT and CPP’s production of Grease. She was the costume designer for Always…Patsy Cline for MCT and for Howmet. She has also worked as assistant director for CPP’s production of 12 Angry Men. Lisa currently serves on the Board of Directors for Central Park Players.
ROBERT MILLS (Props and Set Dressing) has been volunteering for Muskegon Civic Theatre for the last eight years doing props, and has served on their Board of Directors for the past year. He retired last year and he and his wife, Susan, have two daughters in Chicago and Denver and a grandson, Gus.
Flo Predko (Graphic Design) has 34 years of experience in the graphic design and printing industry, handling everything from idea through finished product, or just consulting on a small portion of a project. While her design work for the Playhouse rests primarily in the creation of the annual summer brochure, program, and posters, her repertoire includes logo design, brochures, catalogs, banners, sales and marketing pieces, books, newsletters, annual reports, and more. She excels at fitting a project to the customers’ expectations, and finding creative solutions while maximizing options and keeping timelines and budgets in check. Flo has designed marketing materials and programs for Muskegon Civic Theatre for over 25 years, and is excited to now be a part of the Howmet Playhouse team!

WILLIAM S. RAFAILL (Webmaster) is the owner of Rafaill & Associates, LLC, a company that specializes in website development, graphic design, and technology training. He has been serving as the webmaster for the Howmet Playhouse since the spring of 2007 and is pleased to do all that he can to promote the Grand Old Lady, the Howmet Playhouse. He and his wife, Barbara, have a cottage in Stony Lake and have been enjoying the western shore of Michigan and all that it offers, including the Playhouse, since the mid 1980s.

AIDAN SMITH (Production Assistant and Lighting Designer) is a familiar face both on and off the Howmet stage; he is returning for a third summer. He has appeared in Just Before Sleep, Willy Wonka, Alice In Wonderland and played Jesus in Godspell at the Playhouse. Aidan is a student at Muskegon Community College where he was named the 2016 Outstanding Theatre Student.
